Warts

How to treat warts on the skin

Warts are a skin disease characterized by the formation of small tumor-like growths on the surface of the skin.

Warts vary in size. Formations can be the size of a pin needle and can reach the size of a ruble coin.

The disease is viral in nature and is transmitted through direct contact or through household items used by both sick and healthy people at the same time.

Typically, such growths cause psychological distress, because often the localization sites are visible parts of the body. Warts can be treated with pharmaceutical drugs, folk remedies or apparatus procedures.

Types of warts

  • ordinary (simple) - round-shaped gray-brown nodules with a rough surface. These warts usually occur on the hands, face and scalp. Widespread in both children and adults. Simple warts do not cause any pain, but they are very unpleasant from an aesthetic point of view, because they can create entire colonies of benign tumors-like formations;
  • plantar warts - as the name implies, occur on the plantar surface. In appearance, they resemble corns, consisting of filiform papillae surrounded by horny layers. Causes of plantar warts include constant pressure on the shoes and the formation of an unfavorable microclimate in the heel area. During walking, such formations convey painful sensations and require adequate treatment;
  • Straight warts are small nodules that barely protrude from the surface of the skin. They are yellowish or fleshy in color and are most common in young people. Straight warts appear on the hands and face. As a rule, they are completely painless;
  • venereal warts (condyloma) - are named because they are transmitted during sexual intercourse and, accordingly, affect the external genitalia.

The main reason for the appearance of warts in humans is a viral lesion of the skin. The pathogen is transmitted to healthy people through direct contact with the virus carrier or through household items. In addition, sweating of the skin, minor injuries, burns and some other factors can cause the disease. So, for example, it is easy to get plantar warts when visiting the pool or shower in the gym.

Treatment of warts

Currently, methods to combat warts are usually divided into medical and surgical. The first involves the use of ointments, antiviral drugs, and the use of destructive chemicals. All such actions are relatively ineffective and can help only in the case of the appearance of single joints, and even in the earliest stages. For this reason, modern treatment of warts is based on the use of surgical methods, which in turn are divided into:

  • surgery;
  • cryodestruction methods;
  • radio wave surgery;
  • operations performed with the help of laser technology.

The first two methods are characterized by painful surgery and a long duration of treatment. In addition, when not used properly, they can cause scars and warts to reappear. Radio wave and laser surgery overcome these shortcomings and offer patients a quick, bloodless and painless treatment of warts on the hands, feet and other parts of the body.

Warts - folk remedies

There are various recipes for people to get rid of unpleasant skin growths. The most famous of them are:

  • Plantar warts are easily removed by applying to them a clove of garlic, 1 teaspoon of vinegar essence and a cake made of wheat flour. Apply a small amount of wart from this test and fix it with plaster or bandage. The bandage is removed after 2-3 hours. If not, the wart removal procedure is repeated. Also note that small, painful holes will appear in the place of fallen formations. A bandage with ointment is applied to them, and the wounds are worn until they are completely healed;
  • Warts on the hands are quickly removed with the help of Kalanchoe pinnate leaves. Glue them to the warts and wrap them with a bandage. Warts will disappear after 3-4 procedures;
  • An effective mixture of garlic and fat. Spread on a piece, place on the wart and fix the bandage with a bandage. It is necessary to change the mass of garlic every day. The course of treatment lasts 4-5 days;
  • If the wart is rubbed with sour apple juice every day, then it will start to shrink in size and disappear completely after about 10 days. Mountain ash or fresh tomato juice has a similar effect;
  • powders from crushed corn seeds give good results. They should be done daily. You can also mix the powder with lard and buy an ointment to remove warts.

Remember that if you have warts, alternative treatment should be agreed with your doctor or an experienced homeopath. Do not self-medicate, as this can lead to unexpected and sometimes very unpleasant consequences.
